Every now and then, we must reset our minds when planning out a new project. That was the case for Henry as he is no newbie to the custom scene. His past builds involved classic cars and a few modern muscle cars that he would take to local car shows. So, this time around, he wanted to change things up a bit and build a sport truck. After seeing the sport truck scene grow larger and larger, Henry wanted his 2000 Chevy extended cab Silverado to be able to lay out on the ground as well as have plenty of power at any stoplight to take on any unsuspecting sports cars. The stock 5.3L motor was a good candidate to install a ProCharger’s high output intercooled system with P-1SC set to 9 psi. Next on the list of performance mods was an MSD ignition, Crane camshaft, ported and polished heads, AIRAID intake and PowerAid throttle body spacer. This setup provided a healthy 450 RWHP to his not-so-stock truck anymore. To give his truck the adjustable suspension he was looking for, Henry took his truck to Innovation by Design in Norman, Oklahoma. Once in the shop, his truck received a full front and rear Ridetech setup that was a complete bolt-on. This included the company’s front and rear HQ Series Shockwaves, front upper and lower strong arms, bolt-on three-link, drop spindles and front muscle bar. An Accuair E-Level system was installed next to helped control the ride height. With the truck back at home, a wheel setup was next. Henry looked up Billet Specialties for a set of its 6-lug SL series 20/22-inch combo billet rims that would be wrapped in a set of Nitto 555 tires. To aid with improved stopping power, Henry decided on a set up Power Stop slotted front and rear rotors. Now that the performance and suspension modifications were completed, Henry knew it was time to change up the interior. So, he had a set of Katzkin leather seat covers installed to replace his stock cloth ones. Next, a healthy array of billet interior pieces replaced the factory ones to give his it a true show truck look. To wrap out the interior, a full Pioneer stereo system was installed to provide a nice loud beat to his tunes. Henry was ready for the exterior to go under the knife to give it that custom sport truck look he was after, so he used a Corvette styled body kit to give his truck a clean sport truck look. Next, he installed a Trenz flamed billet grille to match the planned flame job. Then, the truck was sprayed with a bright PPG colored Millennium yellow with a set of gray flames over it. The Millennium yellow color was carried over into the engine compartment as well as the custom bed floor notch cover. With his Chevy Silverado out of the body shop, Henry was ecstatic knowing he had achieved what he set out to accomplish and build: a supercharged full-size pickup that he could go cruise down any highway and have the power to go up against any opponent at the stoplight. Henry would like to thank his lovely wife Patsy for her support along the way. Plus, Justin Arnold, Ronnie Sexton and Jorge Alvarado with helping him create a truly powerful sport truck.
