Ford’s latest generation F-150 continues to prove why it’s the benchmark for modern street trucks. It’s comfortable, capable, and impressively quick in stock form, especially once power adders and suspension upgrades start entering the equation. But as any enthusiast knows, added power and lowered ride heights often expose weak links. One of the most common issues on leaf spring trucks remains axle wrap, wheel hop, and inconsistent traction under hard acceleration.
That is where a quality traction bar setup comes into play, and IHC’s traction bar kit for the 2024 F-150 is designed specifically to address those issues without sacrificing street manners or visual appeal.

Even with Ford’s updated chassis and suspension geometry, leaf spring rear ends are still susceptible to axle rotation under load. When torque is applied, the axle housing wants to rotate opposite the tires, twisting the leaf springs and unloading traction. The result is wheel hop, reduced grip, and unnecessary stress on driveline components.

IHC’s traction bar system works by mechanically linking the axle housing to the frame through a rigid, pivoting arm. This limits axle rotation while still allowing the suspension to articulate naturally. The goal is simple. Keep the tires planted, improve power delivery, and make the truck feel more controlled when you lean into the throttle.


Right out of the box, the IHC traction bar kit makes it clear that this is a purpose-built, vehicle-specific solution rather than a universal setup. The bars themselves are constructed from heavy-wall steel tubing and finished with a durable coating that complements both stock and modified chassis components. Welds are clean, brackets are beefy, and all mounting hardware is included.


One of the highlights of the IHC design is its bolt-on nature. No cutting, welding, or permanent modifications are required, which is exactly what most street truck owners want. Everything is engineered to utilize factory mounting points while maintaining proper suspension geometry.

The kit also includes adjustable ends, allowing for fine-tuning once installed. This is critical for dialing in preload and ensuring the bars work with your specific ride height and suspension setup.

Installation begins with safely supporting the truck and allowing the rear suspension to hang at ride height. This step is important, as traction bars need to be installed under normal suspension load to prevent binding once the truck is back on the ground.

The axle-side brackets are mounted first, securing directly to the axle housing using the supplied hardware. IHC’s brackets are shaped to fit the F-150 housing precisely, which makes alignment straightforward and eliminates guesswork. Once tightened down, the bars themselves can be attached loosely to allow for adjustment during final fitment.

Next, attention shifts to the frame-side mounting points. These brackets bolt into existing locations on the frame, reinforcing the idea that this kit was engineered specifically for the 2024 platform. With the frame mounts in place, the traction bars are connected and adjusted to length.


Final adjustments are made with the truck sitting at ride height. This ensures proper bar angle and prevents unnecessary preload unless intentionally added for performance tuning. Once everything is aligned, all hardware is torqued to spec, and the installation is complete.


The difference is immediately noticeable. Throttle response feels more direct, especially during aggressive launches or roll-on acceleration. Wheel hop is significantly reduced, if not eliminated altogether, and the rear end feels more stable and predictable.
