When the beginning of the year comes around, one show is on everyone’s mind: Lone Star Throwdown. As the saying goes, “Everything is BIG in Texas,” and the same motto goes for this show. Even the location for the show has to be BIG, because the Lone Star Expo Center at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds proved again that it can handle the over 1,900 pre-registered cars/trucks that showed up this year. Even with the forecast leading up to the show stating an 80% chance of rain and lower than normal temperatures, a huge number of diehard car enthusiasts still drove in from all over the United States. To accommodate everyone in attendance, vendors provided amazing service with both hot and cold drinks to go along with the abundance of scrumptious Texas food. The show has also proven to be a perfect spot for many of the car and truck clubs to meet for reunions. This year has shown us once again that the custom car scene is still in full effect. Even as the show ended, many were talking about the “LST Crunch”—meaning plans for the 2023 show. Have you made your plans? Plan well ahead, as the local Conroe hotels fill up months in advance! The show has also proven to be a perfect spot for many of the car and truck clubs to meet for reunions. This year has shown us once again that the custom car scene is still in full effect.
