Living the Life and Printing the Passion

When it comes to magazine cover trucks, I’m particular about what it takes to make the cut. It must have that “wow” factor, a ton of flawlessly executed work, and be something that will catch your eye when you walk down the magazine aisle at your favorite store. It must be photographed perfectly, too.

This month’s cover checked off every one of my boxes—plus another 30. The build is basically three pieces of a factory truck and a ton of highly custom, one-off parts put together by the guys who are at the top of the fabrication game. Noah, Charles, and crew over at Classic Car Studio in St. Louis that handled the build of the rolling work of art that graces this month’s cover are known for their uber high-end, over-the-top builds. This ’56 Ford F-600 is nothing short of perfection.

I knew the first time I saw this truck in person—Battle in Bama 2023—that it was a must that it be a cover truck, so the crew lined up Tim Peeler, their in-house photographer, to handle the flawless photos. Check out the full feature on this truck on page 28 to see what I personally feel is one of the top trucks, if not THE top truck in the scene right now. I love seeing trucks taken to this level and look forward to more of our readers bringing the heat this year.

Also in this issue, we have several other top-notch feature trucks, some of the best show coverage from around the country, as well as a look behind the curtain of KEG Media, one of the industry’s top, all-encompassing companies. You’ll also see a couple of cool tech articles on parts being installed, one of which is my personal Sierra “Stockish” build.

Speaking of builds, it looks like this year’s issues will be packed with tons of tech from a few builds about to be started—including an ’89 Chevy OBS, a ’24 Tahoe, and cool little budget build project: a ’23 Ford Maverick. So, stay tuned and make sure your subscription is up to date so you don’t miss anything.

Until then, let us know what projects you are working on and what shows you are hitting.
