Automotive Design No-Limits Build Revealed by E.C.D. Automotive Design is a Custom Defender 130, the Epitome of Opulence on an Off-Road Legend The Defender 130 is outfitted with exceptionally unique and ultra-premium features such as copper-plated metalwork and a Brazilian teak bed. KISSIMMEE, FL – March 28, 2019 – E.C.D. Automotive Design, known for their prestigious, high-end luxury vehicles, revealed a custom Defender 130 from their Ultimate Vehicle Concept (UVC) division, where vehicle designs are limited only by the clients’ imaginations. The Defender 130, named Project Barge, is the most heavily customized vehicle built by E.C.D. and features exceptionally unique and ultra-premium features throughout. The two-tone exterior body of Project Barge is finished in full-gloss “White Diamond Pearl” paint, while the roof, front grille, and 18-inch Kahn Mondial Retro wheels are finished in “Nara Bronze.” A custom Safety Devices roll-cage was finished in premium Line-X in the same “Nara Bronze” to match. Project Barge is the first vehicle from E.C.D. to feature wood in the rear tub. The Brazilian teak offers a unique contrast to the pearl white exterior. An additional stand-out feature of Project Barge is the copper-plated metalwork throughout the exterior and interior of the vehicle, another first for E.C.D. Automotive Design. Door hinges, fuel cap, exterior door handles, and interior gas and brake pedals have all been copper-plated and patinated. “We’ve effectively given a brand new built vehicle an aged patina. The look is quite superb,” says Tom Humble, co-owner of E.C.D. Automotive Design. On the interior, Project Barge features ultra-luxurious Hydes Nappa leather in a soft-brown color that brings together the copper and bronze. There are plenty of modern comforts as well, such as a Sony infotainment system, a full JL Audio amplified sound system, in-vehicle WiFi, a blind-spot monitoring system, and rear air-conditioning controls for passengers. Project Barge exemplifies the extent of how detailed vehicles can be designed through the Luxury Design Experience, a fully immersive design experience unlike any other, giving clients full control over the details and design of the vehicles.
