The Midwest Dragfest roared back in 2024, taking over the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri, and proving once again why this show is an absolute must for custom ride junkies. Held Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, the event delivered everything we love—killer trucks, good food, and that laid-back Midwest vibe that hits just right.
The action kicked off Friday with pre-registration and roll-ins, and by Saturday morning, the fairgrounds were buzzing. Custom rides of all shapes and sizes filled the lot, from body-dropped minis and lifted diesels to classic hot rods and wild imports. Everywhere you looked, there was something that made you stop and say, “Damn, that’s clean.”
The streets of Sedalia lit up with rolling showcases, exhaust notes bouncing off the buildings as trucks and cars made their way through town.
The Dragfest crew didn’t just bring back the show—they leveled it up with USACi joining for a triple-point sound competition. Whether you were there to admire the polished paintjobs or get your chest thumped by some insane audio systems, this year’s show had it all.
One of the coolest parts of Dragfest is the community vibe. Everyone’s there for the same reason—to celebrate the culture. Families wandered through the rows of rides, and kids clutched bags of fair food while their parents snapped photos of their dream builds. The live DJ kept the energy up, and the food vendors made sure no one left hungry.
Saturday night brought the cruise—a highlight of the weekend. The streets of Sedalia lit up with rolling showcases, exhaust notes bouncing off the buildings as trucks and cars made their way through town. It’s always a sight to see a convoy of custom rigs taking over the streets.
Sunday wrapped things up with the awards ceremony, including Top 30 and specialty awards that recognized the blood, sweat, and tears poured into these builds. Midwest Dragfest 2024 wasn’t just a comeback: It was a statement.
If you missed it, you better clear your schedule for next year. There’s no excuse to miss out on one of the best shows in the Midwest.
