The gist of it is that although custom truck parts look good sitting in their boxes, they look a whole lot greater installed on a truck. Don’t worry, we saw it on the internet! In all seriousness, we think it happens to apply to Kelley Senn’s F-150 quite well. But it wasn’t a matter of just collecting parts and then slapping them on that makes her truck great. It’s the fact that she did her due diligence, decided exactly what she wanted, and then put a plan into motion to accomplish it. If we could sum it up into two steps, it would be: make a plan, and then execute it. Sounds like a simple enough recipe, doesn’t it? Yet, many of us tend to forget about that first part, or at the very least not stick to it very well. More often than not, this leads to less-than-desirable results due to many factors. Maybe those wheels you wanted are on backorder, or you found a cheaper grille that kind of looks like the one you really wanted, so you make compromises to save a few bucks. Before long, your truck may or may not look like a Wish.com version of what you were hoping to accomplish. In the end, sticking to your guns, having some patience (even if that means saving up the scratch or waiting months for parts to arrive), and standing by your original vision is always the best move to make, no matter whether you’re building a full-on show ride or a clean daily driver. When Kelley scooped up her new ’22 F-150, she already had the gears in her head turning as to what she wanted it to look like—classy and simple, yet sinister! The only thing she had to do now was find a shop that could take that vision and turn it into a reality. Luckily, she didn’t have to go far to find that shop: XLR8 Motorsports, right in her hometown of Ocala, Florida! As it turned out, XLR8 was a one-stop shop for everything Kelley had planned. Once her truck rolled under the shop door, it was game on! A large portion of the truck was disassembled, with some of the parts getting picked up by Claudio at CG Paintworx for some color-matching. Once everything had been blessed at CG, Gage at XLR8 began reassembling the truck, making it cleaner and meaner. On went a 6-inch BDS lift kit with Fox reservoir shocks, as well as custom powdercoated 24-inch KG1 Jacked wheels shod in 35-inch Venom Power Terra Hunter R/T tires, giving the truck plenty of clearance while still maintaining its utility. Even the interior was upgraded with a new Roadwire Leather interior kit, which was also installed in-house by XLR8 Motorsports. All of the auxiliary lighting is controlled from an overhead-mounted Switch Pros panel, giving Kelley easy access to the various LED lights mounted throughout the truck. When Kelley finally got her F-150 back, she didn’t waste any time taking it to its first show, and she’s been planning out her summer show schedule as well! As you can see, seeing a plan through to the end definitely results in a more exhilarating experience, especially when it involves building a truck! …standing by your original vision is always the best move to make, no matter whether you’re building a full-on show ride or a clean daily driver.
