Best-Selling Vehicles By State

While it’s always interesting to track which vehicles sell the best in any given part of the world, sometimes we find noteworthy details when we dig in a little bit closer.

For instance, while you may know that the Ford F-Series pickup is the best-selling vehicle in America, did you know that other pickup trucks outsell it in seven states? Or that there’s only one state where a Japanese pickup truck leads the charts?

Toyota Tacoma

We kick the list off with the Toyota Tacoma, which is the only vehicle here that isn’t in the top 10 in overall sales nationally. Interestingly, though, Toyota’s midsize pickup truck outsells all other vehicles in Hawaii. Although the island state is the only one of the official 50 states where the Tacoma is the top seller, it’s also number one in Puerto Rico.

There are three other pickup trucks on this list, but you won’t see them for a while.

Toyota Corolla

Next up is the Toyota Corolla. It’s currently the 10th-best-selling vehicle in the United States, but if you count up its combined global production over the course of its four-plus decades on sale, the Corolla is the best-selling vehicle of all time. That said, there is only one state where this Japanese compact sedan outsells all other vehicles: Florida.
