The great Jeff Spicoli from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” once said, “All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.” At a time in life when less is valued as more, it’s refresh-ing to think back to Spicoli’s ode to simplicity. Joe Parks of Livonia, Michigan, can relate to this sentiment in his own way. Although he doesn’t surf (that we know of, anyway), his equivalent of tasty waves would be a wide-open highway. And the cool buzz? Well, that sound is most likely coming from his 1965 F-100’s factory AM stereo—but the fact that he is still rocking this audio relic is proof that he is choosing to focus on the greater picture when it comes to enjoying his classic Ford pickup.

C10 SLO Down 2022

This West Coast show, held at San Luis Obispo’s historic Madonna Inn last summer, drew more than 800 classic Chevy and GMC owners to show off their prized possessions all along the 23-acre field adjacent to the hotel. Organizers brought in the expertise of the C10 Intervention crew—so you know this was an incredible event. And we have all the pics.
