Project Playboy Update
We’ve revived our ’88 Chevy C1500 truck with updated suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires, and now it’s time to get under the hood. In Part 2 of Project Playboy, check out what we did to the 350c.i. carbonated engine and fuel injection system! We also add some much needed A/C, a killer new interior, and a shiny new paint job.
Are you starting the New Year with some new upgrades to your Ford truck? Well then, you must scroll through our selection of some of the hottest performance products available for your Blue Oval! From weld-in suspensions, street engines, and crate engines to 4-link kits for F-100s and Big Brake kits for OEM spindles on American trucks, there’s no doubt a new project is on the horizon.
Compared to Fords and GMs, Dodges don’t get a whole lotta love. But that’s changing. In fact, the crew at QA1 decided to pick up a ’69 Dodge D-100 to work their magic and develop a new suspension system for this growing market. Dubbed Project Corkscrew, this retired vineyard workhorse made an amazing transformation that’ll make you reconsider the D-Series trucks!
OK, so you have a perfect patina on your truck. What happens when you want to polish it? In this video, we introduce you to some Sweet Patina sauce that’ll give your rust a luminous finish that’s water and deterioration resistant. And it’s as simple as wipe on, wipe off! Watch as we polish up Project Last Chance, a ’67 C10, and get it ready for the Hot Rod Power Tour.
The great Jeff Spicoli from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” once said, “All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.” At a time in life when less is valued as more, it’s refresh-ing to think back to Spicoli’s ode to simplicity. Joe Parks of Livonia, Michigan, can relate to this sentiment in his own way. Although he doesn’t surf (that we know of, anyway), his equivalent of tasty waves would be a wide-open highway. And the cool buzz? Well, that sound is most likely coming from his 1965 F-100’s factory AM stereo—but the fact that he is still rocking this audio relic is proof that he is choosing to focus on the greater picture when it comes to enjoying his classic Ford pickup.
This West Coast show, held at San Luis Obispo’s historic Madonna Inn last summer, drew more than 800 classic Chevy and GMC owners to show off their prized possessions all along the 23-acre field adjacent to the hotel. Organizers brought in the expertise of the C10 Intervention crew—so you know this was an incredible event. And we have all the pics.
