Intergalactic Ford Fest in Kentucky!
This isn’t just any old, ordinary event. Nope, this fest is the mecca for Ford Motor Company fans. It has so much going on! You have NMRA drag racing, autocross, drifting, car and truck show, off-road experience, swap meet, and our personal favorite—the burnout competition. It is a jam-packed schedule throughout the event, and you will not have a moment of boredom.
Our ’68 C10 is already impressive to look at, and we want it to be impressive to drive, too! To upgrade our Chevy C10 truck to a modern driving feel and performance, we decided to add a new coilover suspension kit to covert our frontend coilovers to coilovers with rack-and-pinion steering. We’ll also swap out the rear suspension with QA1’s coilover conversion kit before finishing it all off with QA1 front and rear sway bars.
Lone Star Throwdown 2023 was just held last weekend in Conroe, Texas, so while we’re working on coverage from this year’s show, take a look at our top 10 favorite trucks from last year’s show! Which one is your favorite?
“My goal is that every project should have purpose, functionality, and comfort in mind,” says PRD Design owner and operator Brycen Smith. “These things will lead to an enjoyable vehicle, no matter what custom touches get built into the project. Our slogan is ‘Dream. Build. Drive,’ and that simple philosophy is what I believe encompasses the scope of each project.” Smith and his crew take that philosophy seriously—and it’s obvious in each of their builds.
To show its appreciation of customers and owners of sponsored vehicles, as well as those looking to somehow score some new interior parts of their own, TMI held its first annual Cars & Clearance event last summer. The premise was to gather for an early morning show at TMI’s SoCal HQ, but to add to the excitement, TMI blew out a bunch of old inventory—even non-clearance items were priced to move!
Starting a new C10 truck project is always an exciting time, but some builds are just a little more meaningful than others. Billy Lane and his son Billy Lane Jr. of Marrero, Louisiana, started on their ’66 Chevy C10 soon after they purchased it back in October 2017. The two looked at the truck as a good opportunity to spend some quality father/son time together, but little did they know just what would end up fueling them to get the truck finished as quickly as they could.
