One Day Slam Event Coverage
Nearly 400 vehicles filled the Bristol Township Parks and Recreation Center during the 20th annual One Day Slam in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Tom Polio and the entire Grounded 4 Life crew handled the logistics perfectly. It was a great turnout with vehicles from all over the area competing in this single-day car and truck show.
This truck has some stories to tell. Owned by Justin Zerwekh of Roseburg, Oregon, the 1955 Ford F-100 has accompanied him on all his adventures, from high school homecoming to his honeymoon, across multiple states and beyond. And it’s all thanks to Justin’s father, Jim.
Our goal is to take this ’67 Patina C10 on the world-famous 2,000-mile-long Hot Rod Power Tour! In this phase of our build, we are going to throw out the original suspension components for a much better coilover setup, spice up the motor, and throw on some big brakes. The coilover suspension is not only going to help the truck put power to the ground and handle significantly better, but also let us adjust the compression and rebound at each coil for the different driving conditions we will face.
Dino’s Git Down 2022 was the biggest and best iteration yet; with more than 5,000 Chevy trucks in attendance, it was a spectacle to say the least. Dino, Teri, and the entire crew really went above and beyond to create an event and a weekend that feels less like your average truck show and more like one giant family reunion, and that’s the key to this event’s success.
The 2022 Truck of Year award winners have been announced! Standing out in a sea of modified vehicles takes something special—and that’s what Michael Hill from Edgewater, Florida, did with his 1991 Ford Explorer you see here. In 1998, Michael bought this truck when he was in school as something to get him around town. The Explorer had 33-inch tires, and Michael was known to bury it in mud on a regular basis. As always, SEMA reassures us that the sky really is the limit when it comes to automotive customization. From ground-pounding pickups to high-performance muscle trucks to capable off-road machines—there’s something for everyone to see. While we did our best to squeeze in every new truck-related product on display at the 2022 show, there’s just no way to fit them all into a story like this. We did, however, narrow this year’s gathering of new parts down to the ones we thought you’d dig the most.
