Testing Three New Tire-and-Wheel Combos
As avid truck enthusiasts, we recently had the opportunity to test out three different tire-and-wheel combinations on some cool custom trucks. The goal was to represent different styles of custom and classic setups. The trucks we used were a lifted 2006 Chevy Silverado, a 2014 Nissan Armada, and a 1996 Chevy Tahoe. Check out how the simple changes made huge improvements in the trucks’ stance and attitude!
Ashley Wimmer of Princeton, West Virginia, is no stranger to the truck show scene. Her latest creation is this ’00 Toyota Tacoma, which she debuted at the 2022 Southeast Minitruckin’ Nationals. “I wanted to have a ‘bodied truck that I not only could make all the design choices on, but was also hands-on from start to finish,” Ashley says. It’s a sunny stunner and lays low, looks good, and turns heads wherever it goes.

As always, the three-day event featured a variety of activities, including music, food, and most importantly, an impressive display of custom built trucks!
With most ‘bagged or body-dropped trucks, moving the factory gas tank or swapping it to a new fuel cell seems to the normal when changing the rear frame section of a truck to add air suspension. By doing this, the factory gas filler location won’t work anymore, so you’re left with a gas door to nowhere. In this tech article, we following with the crew at Phat Phabz as they make it disappear.
Thanks to All American Chassis, we now have a completely new frame for this truck that has been pre-engineered for a coilover-style suspension setup. We are incredibly excited to start assembling this truck with all the products from our partners that we’ve assembled for this great cause—a charity build for Mission 22.
